Especially For You

Good afternoon. It's been a few days since I last posted - no reason specifically but I think my sickness bug  wiped out my Mojo too :o)
Anyways I have been in my little crafty haven today having a play and here's the first of a few cards I came up with:

I took inspiration for the layout from the fab sketch by Dawny P at Papertake Weekly this week.
Image - Wild Rose Studio 'Buttercup in Meadow' coloured with PM's

I love the fresh Spring like feel to the colours of the scrummy DP's - the floral one is Pink Petticoat 'Wild Blossoms' and the Spotty one is from Me to You 'Especially For You'
Sentiment - Papermania

This also used:
Spellbinders - Floral Doily Accents - I used the positive and the negative of the border die and threaded some pink & white bakers twine through it.
A few adhesive pearls and a touch of Glamour Dust to finish it off.

Challenges I would like to enter:
Papertake Weekly - Sketch #65
Cards and More - Glisten & Sparkle
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Pink & Girlie
Crazy Challenge - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps - Birthday Card with Dots
That Craft Place - Anything Goes

Last Week for Free & Easy February at Allsorts

Good morning. Hurrah it's Saturday so that means it's time for another new challenge at

and this is our last week of

FREE AND EASY FEBRUARY

Here's what I decided to make this week:

And this is how I did it:
I started by creating a 5"x7" base card using some textured Bazzill card stock in Buttermilk and then I cut another piece of textured card stock in Kraft to mat and layer over the front slightly smaller. Using a Spellbinders Blossoms die I die cut and embossed an aperture in the Kraft card and added some gorgeous red seam binding around the lower half. Before I adhered this to the base card I positioned it and mae some light pencil marks around the inside of the aperture so I could get the right position to stamp the Hero Arts Dogwood image direct to the base card.
I then stamped the image again onto another piece of the Buttermilk card - coloured both the images with PM's - and then cut and layered the flowers. I added some co-ordinating Card Candi to the centre of the flowers.

To finish the seam binding along the bottom - I added a bow and the sentiment that was stamped onto two tags - using Sizzix TH Tiny Tabs and Tags dies  and then a few adhesive pearls to finish.

The Kraft card with aperture was adhered to the card base using 3D foam pads.

I enjoyed making this card and I hope you like it too.

Red White and Ribbon for An Oldie But Goodie

Good morning. I can hardly believe that 2 weeks have past since our last challenge at

this year is disappearing fast!!!
But not quite as fast as the British Gas engineer said when he came to fix a leaking radiator for us last week - quote - "it'll soon be Christmas" - slight exaggeration me thinks :o)

Anyways it is time for a new challenge theme and this fortnight my very lovely friend and DT buddy Claire has picked:

RED WHITE AND RIBBON

Here's what I came up with:

And here's what I used:

Have a Wonderful Day

Good morning. Well half-term is over and Jack is back at school, John is back to work and I'm back to spending the day on my own with little Pickle-Lili cat to keep me company - oh and of course not forgetting I have my little crafty haven to play in :o)

Today's share is made using one of Krista's new Saturated Canary Digi images - this one is called 'Duck Duck Goose - available here
I took inspiration from Sketch Saturday for the LO - using their fab sketch and also from Crafty Emma's for the DPs' as they are looking for Spots and Dots this week :o)

Image coloured with the new PM's Limited Edition Spring Colours - except for the hair were I used some other PM colours

Design Papers - DCVW Nana's Nursery Girls
I 'freestyle' stitched around the papers - is this artistic flair or a good excuse not to worry about wonky stitching :o)

Another Free & Easy Allsorts Week

Good morning. It's Saturday again so that means it's time for another new challenge at

except that it's not a new challenge as we are sticking with our

FREE & EASY FEBRUARY

theme but we do have some new inspiration for :o)

Our sponsor this week is
4 images of winners choice
and Ruth is offering 1 lucky winner
4 images of their choice

Here's what I decided to make this week:

I recently treated myself to some Ink Dusters and have been itching to get inky with them - I usually use the blending tool and I have to say I quite like the effect from the dusters - it somehow seems a little softer and blends a little easier :o)
I started with embossing a 5"x5" square piece of linen effect textured card using Creative Expressions 'Delicate' Mask.
Then I used Martha Stewart 'Cherish' PATP and inked with Dusty Concorde Distress Ink
This was mat and layered onto a larger piece of cardstock that I rounded the corners of and attached to a co-ordinating basecard.

I die cut a frame using Spellbinders Labels 1 and Plain Squares and used foam pads to give it some dimension. The sentiment - part of a set from TPC Studio 'Floral Collage' was stamped onto a smaller Labels 1 and heat embossed with clear EP and then inked with Dusty Concorde with a few adhesive pearls added.
To finish I added a few velvet rolled roses to the corner - which on the photos they look a strange blue colour and look like they don't match - but IRL they are Lilac and tone in perfectly - how strange!!!!!

I really enjoyed putting this card together - I hope you like it too :o)
Please pop over to the main challenge blog and take a look at the gorgeous inspiration from my lovely DT buddies - you won't be disappointed :o)
Hope you can find some time to join us this week - I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

I bought this 'Silver Fairy' digi image by Wee Stamps before Christmas and this is the first time I've printed her out and coloured her in and I'm quite pleased with the result :o)

I mainly used Flexmarkers to colour with this time - with the hair being the exception - note to self I need to get some brown FM's
I teamed the scrummy image with some more of the HOTP DP's that were free with this month's SC&P

I took inpsiration for the LO from this week's fabulous sketch at Sketch Saturday.

This also used:
Glamour Dust on the wings.
Sentiment - Craft Stamper - mat and layered onto Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents.
Felt flower die cut using Spellbinders floral die - with pearl brad for centre.

Get Well Soon at MAWTT

Hello again - this is my second post for today and this time it's to share my DT project for

and the theme this week has been picked by our lovely Shell

GET WELL SOON

I almost feel I could send this to myself today following an appointment I had at the hospital yesterday. I have been having some pain in my left elbow - a bit like when you bang your funny bone but the pain is almost constant - for most of the time over the past 6-9 months I have been ignoring it but lately it has got worse and I have difficulty picking things up so I thought it best to get it checked out. Anyways it turns out I have a condition known as 'Golfer's Elbow' - to which I replied when the consultant told me "but I don't play  golf" - he laughed and said it's the same as Tennis Elbow but it affects the muscle on the opposite side of the elbow.
So to cut a long story short the treatment option he suggested was a steroid injection in the elbow - if I could let him do it because where he needed to inject is right where the pain is and it really is sooooooooo tender to touch - but I bit my lip, squeezed the nurse's hand and he injected my elbow - OOOOUUUCCCHHHH
I cannot express the pain and today my whole arm feels like a sack of spuds is hanging from it :o(
and the pain is at least twice as bad as it was before the treatment - I really hope that doesn't last too long!!!
The next course of action if the steroid injections don't work could be surgery - so I am not looking forward to that at all :o(

Anyways enough rambling here's the card I may just send to myself lol!!!!!!

I have used an uber cute LOTV die cut - available here and what a bargain - 6 images for just £1.00
I used a Spellbinders Small Labels 1 re-cut mine.
The scrummy spring like DP's were a Digi downlaod by Michelle Coleman from Memory Makers 'Wild Sorbet' collection but the link doesn't seem to be available now - sorry :o(
The sentiment was a freebie with this month's HOTP Paper Pack from SC&P  and I thought it matched perfectly :o)

To finish I added a Spellbinders flower die cut topped with pearl brad, a few Memory Box leaves and some adhesive pearls.
Hope you like it :o)

Our sponsor this week is
